Chinois
They pay great attention to everything. The utensils placed were extremely 'zen' and modern. A very nice presentation for a traditional Chinese restaurant.
This is where the good part begins. Because they took quite some time with our appetizer, they served this vegetable with sesame sauce cold dish first. With compliments from the chef (: The sesame paste was delicious, smooth and thick!
Next they served our double-boiled chicken soup. The herb taste is just right. There was some sort of lotus in it that was soft and chewy at the same time. The waitress serving us was wonderful. After every dish she would ask us if we liked our food, and tell us in great detail how the food has been prepared.
Tomato with avacado, mango and crabmeat. This is an appetizer that is only made when you order it. It's served quite cold, but is absolutely refreshing. Comes with rice flakes that adds a lot to the texture of the dish.
Beef brewed in soup. The beef was extremely soft and tender and the soup was just divine. We drank all of it. It was refreshing and nong. You can taste the beef in the soup and it was just really tasty. The carrots added a very refreshing taste to the soup as well.
This was a sort of sweet and sour fish. This was my favorite. The soup of this dish was smooth. You could really taste the smoothness when you drink it. The fish was soft and creamy. The spicyness was just nice. Not too spicy to make you reach for your water but just enough to make you wanna drink more!
Yam basket with vermicelli and mushrooms. My sis liked this a lot. The yam basket is very different from what we normally have at our zi-cha stalls outside.
This was their special dish for the day. Meesua with lobster claw. The lobster pincer was huge and they served with their very own taupok and fishcake (which really didnt taste like any sort of fishcake i had before. it was so good)
The waitress while serving us found out that it was my dad's birthday and surprised him with a cake on the house! He was so happy and shy. This cake was absolutely delish. The top half of the cake was just pure chocolate/fudgey choc
Definitely recommend this place for special occasions! Especially if your parents love traditional chinese food :D
