Phillips Airfryer and French Fries

Mom saw a posting for a Phillips Carnival Sale today and decided to head down to take a look. As I have mentioned to her previously about the ingenious AirFryer, she decided to buy one since it was on discount. The AirFryer costs around $300-$400 in retail stores, but at the sale it was going for $269! Quite a steal :) 

How does this AirFryer work? For those who have not already heard about it, it basically uses hot air to cook your food. The brilliant thing about this is that not much oil is required, and it cooks your normally deep-fried French Fries, Croquettes, Chicken Wings and so on with minimal oil and mess! Also, it is super easy to use - temperature, timer and voila. 

So mom and I got really excited and started whipping up some simple snacks. I chopped up some strips of Potatoes to make French Fries....

While Mom made some savory pancakes with her new blender/mixer machine that she got for only $80 !

As you can see, no oil in the Air Fryer Pan! And it is cooking!

Almost completely oil free!

Below is a quick recipe of the fries I made. 

Ingredients: 

2-3 Potatoes, cut into strips

2 Tablespoons of all-purpose flour

1 Tablespoon of olive oil

Sprinkles of sea salt

Dashing of Paprika powder

Pepper

Instructions:

Step 1: After chopping up the potatoes, soak in cold water for around 30 minutes. 

Step 2: Drain the fries and use paper towels to dry your potatoes.

Step 3: Marinate with the spoon of olive oil, paprika, salt and pepper and stir well. Add the all-purpose flour and make sure all strips are evenly coated!

Step 4: Heat AirFryer to 200 celcius and throw in your french fries/chips and set the timer for 20 minutes. Check after 10 minutes to give it a good mix and shake.

Step 5: Remove from pan and mix with a bit more paprika and sea salt :) Serve!
